Data Processing Purpose

The purpose of data processing is: (i) preliminary, artificial intelligence-supported verification of your student status based on the document uploaded by you, prior to the activation of the digital UniMap card; (ii) issuance and activation of the digital UniMap card and the provision of the card service; (iii) verification of your eligibility for discounts when the QR code is scanned by the partner; (iv) recording of transactions related to card usage for the purpose of monthly commission settlement with partner companies, as well as the prevention and detection of misuse.

4. Legal Basis for Data Processing

Pursuant to Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, the processing of your registration data, data certifying your student status, and digital card data is necessary for the performance of the contract concluded with you for the UniMap card service (registration, verification, card activation, entitlement verification at partners). The AI-supported verification of the uploaded document is also based on Article 6(1)(b) of the GDPR, as it is necessary for the performance of this contract; the details of the automated decision-making are set out in Section 5.

Pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, the recording and retention of transaction data are based on the Data Controller's legitimate interest in conducting accurate and verifiable monthly commission settlements with partner companies, preventing and filtering out abuses, and presenting, enforcing, and defending legal claims arising from settlement disputes. The Data Controller has prepared a legitimate interest assessment regarding this data processing, a summary of which can be requested using the contact details provided in Section 1. Artificial intelligence-supported inspection and automated decision-making

To activate the digital UniMap card, during registration you must upload a document verifying your student status (e.g., a student status certificate or admission certificate). The uploaded document is examined by the Data Controller's system using artificial intelligence (AI), which evaluates the authenticity and compliance of the document. If the AI can clearly determine that the document is authentic and compliant, the card is activated automatically without human intervention. If the AI cannot make a clear decision, the document is sent for manual review, and the card will only be activated following the Data Controller's approval. Documents are never rejected solely by automated means: every case that is not clearly positive is reviewed by a human.

This automated decision-making is necessary for the conclusion and performance of the contract for the UniMap card service (Article 22(2)(a) of the GDPR); its purpose is the fast and reliable verification of student status. You have the right to request human intervention on the part of the Data Controller, to express your point of view, and to contest the decision. If you do not agree with the result of the automated verification, you may request a manual review using the contact details provided in Section 1. The Data Controller does not use special categories of personal data for the automated verification and does not perform profiling for any other purpose.

6. Duration of data processing

The document certifying the student status is deleted by the Data Controller within 30 days of the verification. After that, only the fact and date of successful verification are stored. Your registration and card data are managed for the duration of the card's validity, but for no longer than 3 months after the deletion of your registration or the termination of your student status. Transaction data managed on the basis of legitimate interest are retained until the end of the 5th year following the closure of the relevant accounting period. Data forming the basis of accounting documents are retained for 8 years as prescribed by the accounting law.

7.
